Description

Are you a hands-on HR leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments? I’m partnering with a dynamic national construction company on an exciting growth journey, and we’re looking for an exceptional HR Manager to come in and build the HR function from the ground up.

Our client is a well-established construction business with a strong national footprint and a workforce of approximately 140 employees. With ambitious plans to double in size over the next two years, they are investing heavily in people, systems, and culture to support this expansion.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a standalone HR leadership role where you will have full ownership of creating, shaping, and scaling the HR function. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to drive people strategy while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver day-to-day HR operations.

We’re looking for someone who embodies a “no job is too big or too small” mindset, equally comfortable building strategy as you are handling operational HR tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the HR function from the ground up

  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategy with rapid business growth

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment to support workforce expansion

  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices

  • Drive performance management, engagement, and retention initiatives

  • Oversee employee relations and provide practical, solutions-focused advice

  • Implement and optimise HR systems and technology to improve efficiency

  • Champion a strong, positive, and scalable company culture

About You

  • Proven experience in a standalone or senior HR role, ideally within construction, engineering, or a similar fast-paced industry

  • Demonstrated success in building or transforming HR functions

  • Highly tech-savvy with experience implementing or optimising HR systems

  • Comfortable operating both strategically and operationally

  • Agile, proactive, and thrives in a high-growth environment

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • A hands-on approach with a positive, can-do attitude
